Twin Cities Family Cooperative hosts virtual and in-person events each month that are open to anyone interested in learning more about our community. These are a good time to meet our members, get a tour, socialize, and ask questions. Our monthly potlucks are a fun, family-friendly time to share good food and good company. If you can’t make it to one of our events and want to connect, reach out to us. We look forward to connecting with you soon!
Blending Cohousing and Cooperative for Affordability
In Germany recently, housing advocate David Ackos saw and studied something striking: lovely intentional communities average people can afford. They think this co-op-based model has the potential to help transform how human needs, including housing, are met here in the US. And they see ways to apply the model to cohousing (which remains stubbornly expensive). See and hear what David is talking about and join the discussion on Wednesday October 14, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the new Hamline Midway Library, 1558 West Minnehaha Ave, St. Paul, or live online. Last year we hosted our first ever Free Sale and it was an enormous success! We gave away many boxes of useful goods and met a lot of new people.
The sale was a very meaningful experience for us. Spending some time with our neighbors on the lawn and seeing some of our unused possessions become valuable items to other people made us feel connected to the neighborhood in exactly the way that we always imagined when we were planning our community. We’re hoping that this year’s sale will bring more people into that experience and lay further groundwork for expanding our local sharing economy.
This year, we plan to invite our neighbors to participate in the Free Sale by bringing donated items to our yard to give away, hosting their own Free Sale in their yard, or volunteering to help make the event happen. We’re also happy to accept donations and volunteers from outside our neighborhood. If you’d like to get involved, please fill out this form to let us know.

Virtual Open House
May 1-2 is National Cohousing Open House Weekend. Curious about life in our community? Join us for this online event, packed with information. We'll take you on a virtual tour of our current community property, a 7-unit apartment building, and share our future plans to double the size of our building. We'll talk about who we are, what life is like in our urban family-focused and intergenerational community, and what to do if you are interested in joining our community.
